Vaccine Plan

Ayamonte has had three new positives in the last 24 hours. This brings the running total for the last week to 59 and two-week positives to 106. The Mayor of Ayamonte, Natalia Santos, asked the Delegation for Health and Families in Huelva to carry out extensive testing on the inhabitants of Ayamonte in attempt to curb the increased number of positives, she also asked for support from the army to carry out intensive disinfection of areas within Ayamonte.

Huelva declared 79 new cases today and there were ten new hospitalizations, and one patient has been moved into intensive care bringing the total in intensive care to 15.

Sadly there was one more death declared in Huelva with the total for the province now at 101.

Huelva has 143 patients in hospital and 15 of those are intensive care. There are currently 2,827 patients in Andalusian hospitals with Covid-19 of which 488 are in intensive care.

The government have outlined who will be first to get the vaccination when it becomes readily available. These are the first four groups that have been identified:

1. Nursing home residents

2. Health care workers in nursing homes

3. Health care workers

4. Disabled bodied people.

The vaccination plan is expected to start in January and continue into March for people in this first stage of vaccination. The minister for Health, Salvador Illa, said the main objective of this first stage is to offer the vaccine to the people who are most vulnerable to Covid -19.
