Huelva has reported 497 new cases today the worse day since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. Although the numbers are bad in Huelva it was the province that declared the least number of new cases with a total of 6,882 new cases for Andalusia today. Malaga had 1,417 cases followed closely by Seville with 1354.

Huelva has seen the number of positives triple in the last 24 hours from 149 to 497 and sadly there were three more deaths bringing the total to 152 for the province.

There are currently 1,697 patients in Andalusian hospitals with Covid-19 and 284 of those are in intensive care. The number of hospitalizations has increased in all of Andalusia and the intensive care units are also seeing the number jump.

While the incident rate per 100,000 inhabitants has increased in Spain to 454, a number of autonomous states including Andalusia have asked for a general lockdown. In Andalusia more restrictions are expected to be announced by Friday.

Locally the incidence rates are rising with Villablanca at 141, Ayamonte at 254, Cartaya 294, Lepe 312 while Isla Cristina has seen rate soar to 1,190. (sadly, that is not a typo).
