Many people have asked me, what is being used to disinfect the streets apart from bleach and in today’s press conference the Chief of Defence Staff, Miguel Angel Villarroya, went into detail how they disinfect the Nursing Homes. Here is a summary of what they do and some additional information I have added to clarify. The nursing home staff are first consulted about how they work and where residents are and how they use the installations. A team made up of 5 people then start the disinfection process (the bigger the installation the more teams that are needed). They first spray or wipe down any fixed items with a disinfectant which has a base of hydrogen Peroxide (Most people will have oxygenated water in their houses, this is a form of hydrogen Peroxide or stronger formats in form of hair bleach). Then large-scale nebulisers are used to create a fine mist that falls on all the surfaces, the point is to moisten the surface not to wet it fully. The teams then leave instructions with the staff how to maintain areas and leave. Today the army will disinfect 192 nursing homes and bring the total to 2733 disinfected and each nursing home takes between two to four hours to disinfect.

There has been a total of 5,478 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is now at 140,510. The number of patients in intensive care is 7,069 and the number of deaths has now reached 13,798. The number of people who have recovered is 43,208.

Meanwhile in Andalusia there are 8,767 confirmed cases of which 4,335 are in hospital and 499 are intensive care. There have been 528 deaths (Malaga 125, Jaen 53, Granada 128, Cordoba 39, Cadiz 32, Seville 112, Almeria 23, Huelva 16). In Seville there are 1,713 cases and 811 of those required hospitalization with 104 in intensive care. There have been 112 deaths while 105 have been cured.

In Andalusia there have been a total of 528 deaths so far. A total 900 patients have now been declared cured.

In Huelva there are 292 cases, this being an increase of 4 new cases today, 147 have been hospitalized with 25 in intensive care, the number of deaths remains at 16. The good news is 19 have now been declared cured.
