The Junta de Andalusia have activated today Monday their contingency plan 9000 which ensures that there are 7,750 hospital beds available which is three times what is currently available. In intensive care units 1,030 beds will be made available which is five times more than there is now. The President of Andalucia Juanma Moreno said they were activating the contingency plan now well ahead of the 9000 confirmed cases so that the hospitals can deal with any peak. Juanma Moreno said “ We are not going to allow the coronavirus to run us over, Andalusia is ready and we will continue preparations constantly over the coming weeks ”

There has been a total of 6,398 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is now at 85,195. The number of patients in intensive care is 5,231 and the number of deaths has now reached 7,340. The number of people who have recovered is 16,780.

Meanwhile in Andalusia there are 5,405 confirmed cases of which 2,671 are in hospital 216 are intensive care and 2,498 are in quarantine and there have been 236 deaths (Malaga 69, Jaen 23, Granada 56, Cordoba 13, Cadiz 13, Seville 34, Almeria 14, Huelva 4). In Seville there are 1052 cases with 470 of those in hospital, the remaining 548 are in quarantine in their own homes, 34 deaths while 18 have been cured.

In Andalusia there have been a total of 207 deaths so far and 407 patients have recovered and 148 of these have now been declared cured.

In Huelva there are 131 cases, this being an increase of 37 new cases today, 92 are in hospital and 72 are in quarantine in their own homes. The good news is that nine have been sent home from hospital and two have been confirmed cured.
