The use of the rapid test has now arrived in Ayamonte with the nursing home Lerdo de Tejada being the first to be tested. The great news is that both staff and residents all tested negative. The good news continues as the Aprosca Centre was also tested and again both staff and residents all tested negative. The first batches of masks were also distributed this morning by the Guardia Civil, Local police and civil protection services at the bus station to people using public transport. The people who have not stopped working in all this time: the farmers and fruit pickers were also given masks. It is expected that by the end of this week masks will be readily available for the general public from local pharmacies. However, the majority of these masks are hygienic masks which give some level of protection but personally I feel they are more to stop the spread from asymptomatic carriers.
