The President of the Junta de Andalusia , Juanma Moreno, said during a radio interview today that he felt that both Almeria and Huelva should enter directly into stage one from the 4th May just like the four islands which have been already named. He went on to say that he would ask the central government for the exact data and criteria needed for these two provinces to enter stage one.
There has been a total of 2,144 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is 212,917. The number of deaths has now reached 24,275. The number of people who have recovered is 108,947
Meanwhile in Andalusia there are 13,501 confirmed cases of which 5,832 have needed hospitalisation and 722 have needed intensive care. As of 21.00 yesterday there are 749 patients confirmed with Covid-19 in hospital and 172 of those are in intensive care.

There have been 1,188 deaths in Andalusia (Malaga 253, Jaen 156, Granada 238, Cordoba 98, Cadiz 111, Seville 244, Almeria 47, Huelva 41). In Seville there are 2,605 cases and 1,127 of those required hospitalization with 145 in intensive care. There have been 244 deaths while 806 have recovered.
In Huelva there are 425 cases, this being an increase of 10 new cases today, 214 have been hospitalized with 30 in intensive care. Sadly, one new death was reported today bringing the total to 41. The good news is 163 have now recovered from the virus.
