Watching what has been occurring around Europe and indeed in other parts of Spain it is no surprise that numbers have jumped in these last few days. On Monday there were 1074 cases in Andalusia this jumped 27% to 1366 on Tuesday. Today Wednesday 6th January it has jumped another 75% to 2,391 cases in the last 24 hours.
When we compare Andalusia figures to Huelva, we see a similar scenario. On Monday Huelva had 21 cases which was low considering the amount of mobility during the festive period by Tuesday that had more than doubled to 48 and today it more than doubled again to 108. What is clear now is more than ever we need to be vigilant, wear masks, wash hands and keep social interaction down to a minimum. The vaccine has arrived, but it will be summer before we have enough to return to a somewhat normal lifestyle.
In Huelva, there were 108 new cases today and 7 were admitted to hospital. Sadly, Huelva declared two more deaths to Covid-19 and it brings the total to 140.
There are currently 39 people in hospital in Huelva with Covid-19 of which 11 are in intensive care. Today 34 patients were declared cured with total cured number now 9,823.
