Spain has just passed the two million mark for positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic (2,050,360) and 216,302 of those have needed hospitalization at one stage or another. There have been 18,715 patients in intensive care with Covid-19 and 51,874 deaths. The vaccine is being rolled out and of the 743,925 doses Spain has received 277,976 have been administered.

The third wave is raising its ugly head after an easing of the restrictions during the Christmas holidays. Andalusia reported 3,542 new cases today and 61 deaths. Huelva saw their cases double again today to 219 and there were six new hospitalizations. Sadly, six new deaths were reported in Huelva bringing the total now to 148.

Here is the chart of how the hospitals are at this moment in time with Covid-19 patients and these are the numbers we must worry about to avoid the saturation of the hospital services. We are already seeing a notable increase however this increase hasn’t yet been seen in the ICU.
