Throughout Spain Covid numbers continue to increase and Andalusia is no different. Today there were 6,664 new cases and 43 new deaths declared in Andalusia. Malaga was the worst hit with 1,339 cases while Granada had 649 case but 17 deaths.
Huelva had 496 cases only one less than the previous record of 497 although it was the only province to declare no deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of hospitalizations continues to increase and there are currently 1,916 Covid patients in Andalusian hospitals and 308 of those are in intensive care.
Ayamonte declared 28 new cases today and this brings the 14 day incidence rate up to 460, a long way from the 177 declared on Monday. Ayamonte Town Hall has provisionally suspended all football in the sporting grounds due to a number of athletes positive. Isla Cristina by far the worst hit town locally and where the Town Hall has asked for confinement for the next 15 days and all teaching to be moved online. They have also asked for mass screening of the population. Isla Cristina Town Hall has complained to the Provincial Health Delegation that the number of people being contacted by the tracers far exceeds the capacity in the local health centres and people from Isla Cristina are now having to travel to Lepe and Ayamonte to carry out the tests.
