Today the Junta de Andalusia has forwarded to the Central government their support that all the provinces move to Phase 1 and that 30 of the 33 health districts move to phase 1 on May 11th. During his intervention in the control session Andalusian Parliament, Juanma Moreno President of the Andalusian government stated that the COVID-19 pandemic is generating serious consequences not only in the health field, but also economically and socially. He warned we need to be alert and continue to anticipate in order to be able, as far as possible, to minimize its effects and consequences in our autonomous community.

The minister for Education and Sport for the Junta de Andalusia, Javier Imbroda who himself has recovered from Covid19, declared that students would not be returning to school in what is left of the school year even if the central government permits the return in phase 2.

There has been a total of 685 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is 220,325. The number of deaths has now reached 25,857. The number of people who have recovered is 126,002

Meanwhile in Andalusia there are 14,639 confirmed cases of which 6,012 have needed hospitalisation and 740 have needed intensive care. As of 21.00 yesterday there are 546 (-98) patients confirmed with Covid-19 in hospital and 120 (-16) of those are in intensive care.

In Andalusia with 7,679 patients recovered, the hospitals are as follows please note that the total of patients hospitalised includes those in intensive care

There have been 1,281 deaths in Andalusia (Malaga 263, Jaen 164, Granada 261, Cordoba 102, Cadiz 138, Seville 260, Almeria 49, Huelva 44). In Seville there are 2,733 cases and 1,167 of those required hospitalization with 146 in intensive care. There have been 260 deaths while 1,101 have recovered.

In Huelva there are 474 cases, 8 new cases today, 220 have been hospitalized with 30 in intensive care. Sadly, we have one new death was reported today, 44 people now having passed since the beginning of the crisis. The good news is 226 have recovered from the virus.
