The Town councils of Ayamonte, Isla Cristina, Lepe, Cartaya and Punta Umbria have made a joint press release regarding the use of beaches as of Monday May 25th when the province of Huelva enters phase 2. The use of the beach and swimming in the sea will not be prohibited neither will it be authorised by the Town councils. Instead they have appealed to the general public to maintain the social distancing and hygienic & protection rules to stop the spread of the virus. As happens every year, June 15th will be when all the planning for the use of the beaches along this coast comes into action with the Safety and rescue measures which this year will be supplement with special actions in the fight against Covid19.
So, my understanding is that basically the Town Halls are asking everyone to be responsible for their actions on the beach as until June 15th they won’t have the safety measures in place. Or if you look at it in a stricter point of view, go to beach, enjoy for walks etc, be responsible and if possible don’t go swimming until June 15th.
There has been a total of 246 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is 235,772. The number of deaths has now reached 28,752(+70).

Today Dr Fernando Simon Soria, Director of the Centre for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies for the Ministry of Health, said that 50,455 healthcare workers had been infected since the beginning of the crisis. To put that into context it means 21.9% of all the declared cases in Spain are the frontline staff fighting to give the best care possible to patients.
In Andalusia yesterday, the minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre reported that 3,622 healthcare workers had been infected since the beginning of the crisis which equates to 22.8% of all confirmed cases in Andalusia, higher than the national average. Mr Aguirre also pointed out that 73.9% of these healthcare workers have already recovered. It is clear that the healthcare workers continue to put their own health on the line to save others and we will never be able to thank them enough and their families for the work they are doing.
Every night for the last two months people have been applauding the healthcare workers from their terraces/ balconies but this Sunday everyone is asked to make a special effort to applaud these workers. Rather than let this initiative fade away you are asked to make it go out with a bang, so this Sunday at 20.00 you all have a date on you terrace or balcony.
There has been a total of 549 new cases declared today and the total confirmed cases is 230,183. The number of deaths has now reached 27,459 (+138). The number of people who have recovered is 144,783 (+1,409)
